Francis Bacon

Francis Bacon's art actually scares me. Frightens me to the core. A good thing. You know an artist is doing something right when that happens...

Francis Bacon (28 October 1909 – 28 April 1992) was an English figure painter. He was a collateral descendant of the Elizabethan philosopher Francis Bacon. His artwork is known for its bold, austere, and often grotesque or nightmarish imagery.

  1. Yay for Bacon! My husband's band might try to use a Bacon painting for their next album cover :) In many of his paintings he has said that he was trying to 'paint the *feeling* of the terrors in the world, without painting the actuall terrors'. Creepy.
